Here are my Pinterest boards that I created to get inspiration on up and coming shoots, and to broaden my knowledge on what I could possibly create with my theme of urban environments. As you can see I selected various sets of images that incorporate colour in the environments, whether this is through editing or the natural environment I want to include in it my work too include it to break up the many layers seen in the environment as well as including colour to introduce further depth in the images.

Gallery Visit

The Side Photographic gallery was one of the gallerys I visited whilst on my "Rainy Day in Newcastle" shoot. On this day this gallery featured the works from the photography Anne Helene Gjelstad where showcases the story of the women on the Estonian islands of Kihnu and Manija in the Baltic Sea. The photographer featured at this gallery, Anne Helene Gjelstad documented the woman in the Estonian Islands where the older women take care of almost everything on land where their husbands travel at sea. Gjelstad photographed the daily lives and activities of these women as well as their clothing, bedrooms, kitchen and farmhouses fully exploring there surrounds and environments of these women. From Gjelstads documentation of this strong and unique society and how they endured such harsh conditions over many decades as part of the Soviet Union. What gets my attention to this gallery is Gjelstad's documentation of their rural environment showcasing its true authentic style and from this approach it relates to my style of photography in how I record my shoots, I aim to capture my environments authenticity.  ​
